Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Following the fiscal incentives provided by the government with the VAT reimbursement on machineries in production, enterprises have increased their product and improved the quality of the final product. This fact has increased the interest of Albanian companies not only in European markets, but also in American markets. Prime Minister Edi Rama visited one of the toll manufacturing businesses in Tirana. This enterprise produces for the top fashion brands such as “Armani” or “Versace” in Italy, and has 200 employees.

“We produce for Italy. We’re still investing in order to expand further”, the plant’s administrator said. Asked by the Prime Minister, she replied that they produce suits for the brands “Armani” and “Versace”.

Perparim Dika is another entrepreneur in the toll manufacturing business, whose plant was visited today by Prime Minister Rama. The entrepreneur said he is satisfied with the support of the government and the removal of customs barriers, because many absurd bureaucracies have been avoided. His enterprise produces shirts for the America market, and his current employees are 60 women.

The Prime Minister asked how much the VAT reimbursement has been helpful, as it was a serious obstacle for the enterprises until three years ago.

“It’s almost automatic. We used to have a lot of problems before. A lot of requirements, not only bureaucratic but even unsolvable, such as a seal of the Italian customs for our export statements, which was a bit absurd.”

The entrepreneur says that the goal now is to achieve a closed cycle, a process that has started.

The Prime Minister noted that “The challenge, which has already started, is to have a thorough closed cycle. It has started, and I’m convinced that you’ll reach also this stage as it of interest both to them and to you. Of course, it requires a higher qualification level, but you’ll get there as well. I’m sure.”
