The Hospital of Trauma, which has been the symbol of misery of the healthcare infrastructure, will be another proof of the revival of the healthcare within two months. Degraded environments, the hallway used as pharmacy, rooms overcrowded with family members of the patients due to the lack of adapted facilities for them, this is how the hospital looked before the launch of the 8 billion ALL investment.

Prime Minister Edi Rama and Health Minister Ilir Beqaj toured the hospital of Trauma to check on the progress of the project. All the wards are being thoroughly reconstructed, the emergency service, the MRI, the surgery block, the CPR, physiotherapy. Part of the project is also the reception hall and waiting rooms for family members. Health Minister Ilir Beqaj informed also that biomedical equipment and furniture are ready.

“We are getting ready to thoroughly change the physiotherapy service in the hospital of trauma. The premises of the old pharmacy will be transformed into a reception hall and waiting room for family members, who so far have been waiting in the patients’ rooms.

These were existing facilities, but the floor, the ventilation and aspiration system, everything is new. There is a new special system in order to use the new technology to manage every patient in the CPR. All equipment is new, and now we have started installing the biomedical equipment. More than 8 billion ALL are being invested here. Everything will be ready by the beginning of May.”

This investment will completely transform the physiotherapy service, not only the rooms but also the service provided, which the Prime Minister considered a meaningful example of the results of the reform.

“This hospital was one of the symbols of the collapse of the healthcare system for more than 20 years, but now this transformation opens a completely new chapter. It will actually revive the hospital of trauma by creating totally new conditions, in addition to giving a very meaningful example to the results of the reform, also in terms of funding. It will also be of great value to motivate the medical team, nurses, CPRs, physiotherapists who until yesterday were completely adrift. This period has been more or less aimed at stabilizing a difficult situation because the infrastructure was totally destroyed, but now with the new infrastructure and logistics in place, with all new equipment, it will be a completely different world.”
