Albanian Government Council of Ministers

In order to receive a public service, citizens of Krujë don’t have to wait in long and exhausting queues anymore because they can receive them now in one counter. ADISA, the centre for integrated services has become recently operative, thus saving citizens the trouble to wander in various offices. ADISA’s Director for Kruje said that integrated services are provided more quickly, and documents are either submitted to citizens directly in the ADISA offices, or sent them home. “Approximately 233 services are provided here by 6 institutions. There’s an Info Point where citizens can receive information and a ticket, and then they are oriented to the respective counter. The time required for an application goes from 5 to 10 minutes at maximum. Some of the documents are issued here, and some other are mailed”, he said.

The Prime Minister noted that this is the right service model which will be extended across the state administration providing services to citizens. “This is the model we need to remove once and for all the gangrene from the offices that provide citizen services, and to combine later such model with online services, so that this ordeal will be over once and for all. We’ve had a hard time with stories like, this service is of this party, this other of that party, therefore if we manage to integrate them in this system, it will be a great revolution”, Prime Minister Rama said.

10.024 applications have been submitted to the 14 ADISA counters in Krujë since they have been launched. ADISA has already 5 offices in Albania, and is expected to extend across the country.

Thanks to the Urban Renaissance, Kruja is regaining the lost splendour as one of the important cultural tourism destinations in the country, hosting annually over 20 thousand tourists. The urban remediation of Kruje has started through some Urban Renaissance projects, ranging from the city entrance, the market and the city centre. The revitalization of the latter is giving it back not only to the citizens, but also to the local economy, especially to the businesses operating there. The project includes also the widening of the road “Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu”, the rehabilitation of the buildings facades, the reconstruction of the canalization network, and the lightening and greenery system. “The facades will be unified, the market’s entrance will be built, and lightening and greenery will be added”, minister of Urban Development, Eglantina Gjermeni said.

Also, works for the widening of the entrance road to the city have begun, in addition to the works for the parking lot. Thanks to these interventions, not only the area will be regenerated, but traffic congestion – due especially to tourism-related flux – will be also eased. “The whole parking lot area is approximately 8000 square metres. The ground level is only for buses, while the underground and the second level are for cars. The other area will be for pedestrians, with trees, cobblestones and benches”, the project manager explained.

The Renaissance of cities is already having its effects on the economy, tourism and vitality of active life in cities. Part of these projects in the coming months are expected to be the suburban areas and those outside the cities, thus offering citizens more opportunities to become an active part of the community they live in.
