The flag raising national ceremony took place at the Flag Square in the city of Vlora, where Albania’s independence was declared 106 years ago.

Prime Minister Edi Rama laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier memorial, in tribute to the struggle and sacrifices of the Albanian patriots for the country’s independence.
