Albanian Government Council of Ministers

The Warsaw Summit took some very important decisions on a variety of issues related to stability and security in the Euro-Atlantic space, where Albania makes a valuable contribution. Prime Minister Edi Rama told the media that Albania’s role was highly appreciated also in this Summit.

“NATO Summits have this characteristic that they are big meetings, but very concrete, with clear objectives, clear decisions and strict monitoring of the decisions taken. In this sense, this was an important summit on many topics, but above all it was a summit where the role of small Albania was rated highly, and this makes me very proud.”

At the summit, the Prime Minister said, we reaffirmed that Albania keeps all its commitments within NATO’s obligations. “Albania has abided by its commitments and will continue to do so, and this is a reason for increased consideration and respect for Albania as a junior partner, but highly valued in this alliance.”

Prime Minister Rama commented also on the visit of US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland to Tirana. “The arrival of the iron Lady from Washington is another very important signal for Albanians of the great importance that the White House, the US government pay to the judicial reform. In addition, it shows what we gain and what we lose by voting or not voting the justice reform, not just as an ambition to overthrow a rotten system and have it replaced with a justice system that Albanians deserve, but also in terms of what Albania will be tomorrow Albania in the eyes of the US, if it is not able to pass this justice reform”, the Prime Minister said while adding that “we are developing plan B, which is to move forward with the draft in parliament. You ask about C, but B comes before C.”
