Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Thanks to the formalization of economy and to favourable fiscal policies, Albanian companies are increasingly investing to expand in the regional market.

Prime Minister Rama visited today the premises of “Dast”, part of the “Delta Group”, one of the largest companies in the production of finishes, adhesives, additives, etc. The company has been able to invest in the past two years more than ever before, namely over 8 million Euros, in order to increase its production capacities, and is undertaking a new investment of 6 million Euros for the construction of a new factory in Shijak. Thanks to this, a record was marked in 2015 only, with a 55% increase in exports and 30% in revenue.

“The removal of tax on machineries has been very helpful, considering that we are constantly importing, but the most important thing, and I want to stress this, the VAT reimbursement has been also extremely helpful”, President and CEO, Luan Muça noted.

“We have developed these incentive and support policies to support you, so that you could benefit from them, and we will continue supporting you. The next 6 million Euro investment for the new factory in Shijak, which will open hundreds of jobs, is very important, but the most important things is that this Albanian enterprise is breathing more freely and is investing more by increasing export and creating jobs”, Prime Minister Rama said during his visit to the premises of the factory.

The further expansion of companies such as “Dast” is directly conditioned by the liberalization of building permits for private dwellings. “We have given the green light to permits, so there are no more obstacles, especially for private apartments. There have been no obstacles since day A. Private dwellings and manufacturing investments have always been open”, Mr Rama noted. “On the other hand, we had of course to regulate and put under control the territory to end the crazy situation going on with informal constructions.”

The expansion of production capacities is associated with the ongoing qualification of human resources. Among the 400 employees of “Dast”, a group of experts dedicates its daily work to research, and has managed to have over 500 domestic products certified according to European standards.

However, to ensure sustainable growth, just like many other Albanian companies, “Dast” has a pressing need for skilled professionals who have the knowledge required to run the increasingly complex and sophisticated machineries of the company.

Therefore, the company is committed to cooperating closely with the Albanian government for the establishment of schools and vocational training, by creating a closed circuit of knowledge, where professionals of the future will qualify according to the market needs, thus ensuring their employment.

“We have a support program for the vocational education. This issue has become a gangrene over the years, but we thought to bring a novelty in vocational schools by associating theory with practice”, Director General of “Dast” concluded.
