The residential buildings that sustained damages due to the powerful earthquake on Nov 26 last year are not only being reinforced, but new communal areas are being created for the local communities as part of the ongoing reconstruction process in the earthquake-hit areas.

A total of 615 apartment buildings will undergo earthquake damage projects in the municipality of Durres, Mayor Emiriana Sako affirmed as she accompanied Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister for Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj, who inspected this reconstruction site. 

“The project includes damage repair works on a total of 615 buildings in the entire area of Durres,” Sako said.

The damaged buildings will be repaired, whereas their interior and exterior will be transformed to take a completely new look. Durres residents, as well as other families in the quake-affected areas, will soon move into their better, safer, stronger and more beautiful houses than the one they used to live in prior to the tragic earthquake on Nov 26.
