The new school “Ramazan Subashi” in Marikaj, Vore municipality, comes as a beautiful surprise to the small town and not only. Hailed as one of the most beautiful educational facilities being built under the ongoing Reconstruction Program, its construction was based on a fantastic engineering design, featuring nine classrooms, three laboratories, preschool education classrooms, technical facilities, around 4.000 square meters of construction and over 9.000 square meters of outdoor premises, a gym with peculiar construction style, sports grounds and a greenhouse, a novelty fitting with the area’s agricultural profile, as well as the school’s function as a community centre.
“A school building 100% in line with the education infrastructure standards in the EU,” Prime Minister Edi Rama said as he visited the newly-built modern education facility today afternoon.
“In terms of its design, this is largely seen as the best school rebuilt as part of the post-earthquake Reconstruction Program, It will now welcome back its 250 students. The school’s construction work kicked off on June 9 and completed ahead of schedule. The facility features an interesting combination of the indoor and the outdoor sport grounds. A greenhouse structure has been also built in collaboration with the Albanian Development Fund, since a large part of the local community is mainly involved in fruit-trees growing and cultivation or general agriculture. Outdoor space features large and modern premises,” Reconstruction Minister Arben Ahmetaj said.
Prime Minister Edi Rama urged the school administrators and teachers to make most of the capacity this educational facility offers, not only to students, but also to the local community. “It is up to you to care and maintain the school, make it available to the community and host various activities in all these sport grounds,” the Premier said.
