The reconstruction process in Fushe-Kruje, one of the worst-hit areas due to the November 2019 earthquake, is progressing very fast as work to build one of the most beautiful residential complexes under the post-earthquake reconstruction programme is heading towards its completion. A total of 128 single-family homes in “the Renaissance” neighbourhood are scheduled to complete in May, whereas construction of 15 residential buildings is expected to complete this fall.
“The construction work is in an advanced stage. A total of 128 single-family homes and 120 apartments are being built here,” Kruja Mayor Artur Bushi said as he accompanied the Prime Minister Edi Rama while touring the reconstruction site, where three-shift work is underway.
The residential buildings are also taking shape and work to rehabilitate the communal spaces and the area between the buildings is set to kick off next week. “A neighbourhood management structure should be set up here, just like it is the case with all residential neighbourhoods, where an administrator is appointed to tackle all the issues concerning the shared obligations of the residents and management of the communal spaces,” PM Rama said.
Just like in other three reconstruction sites launched in the territory of Kruje municipality, a new kindergarten, a nursery school will be built here along with the health care and the community centre, which will provide social-cultural services to local residents. A new marketplace for the locally-grown produce will be built in this area, turning it into a new centre of economic development for the town of Fushe-Kruje.
