Albanian Government Council of Ministers

The scenic areas in the town Permet and the surrounding villages will be easily accessible thanks to the improved infrastructure. This is the case of the road between Permet and Çarshove currently under construction and which will soon be transformed into a fresh opportunity to explore and experience the wonderful Permet nature and landscape.

“The road has been totally destroyed over this period,” Permet Mayor Alma Hoxha said as she accompanied Prime Minister Edi Rama, who inspected the ongoing work to construct the road linking Permet and Çarshove.  “This investment will give a fresh impetus to tourism development in Permet. The town of Permet will no longer be a hidden and inaccessible area, but visitors will now be provided the opportunity to head further and visit more remote areas in Çarshove. We are also working to upgrade the 28-km road between Permet and the Three Bridges area,” Mayor Hoxha said.

With the new roads network being built and the future investments in the area’s road infrastructure, the tourism offer of the whole area, including Korça, Permet and  Gjirokaster will expand further to attract more local and foreign visitors. “This infrastructure project is of strategic importance not only to Permet and Korça, but to tourism development in this whole area, as the tourism offer will be diversified by providing visitors the opportunity to travel further to visit Tepelene and Gjirokaster, as well as the areas in Kolonje, Korçe, Devoll, Pogradec, and take advantage of the new road between Erseke, Leskovik and Permet,” PM Rama said, adding that this infrastructure will shorten distance and travel time to the coastal areas and other cities and parts of the country.

“The road between Korçe and Erseke will complete next year. The completed segment has been constructed in a fantastic way and it will shorten the distance and driving time to just 15 minutes. Everything would change here once construction of Erseke –Leskovik-Permet road completes. The procedures for construction of this road have been launched under the World Bank funding program aimed at supporting development of sustainable tourism in this whole area,” the Premier said.
