The waterfront promenade in Saranda has been recently transformed into a modern public space with greenery and urban lighting as the southern coastal town readies to welcome the upcoming summer tourist season.

Prime Minister Edi Rama today walked along the promenade has become a very popular site for local residents and businesses and especially for the community in Saranda.

“The work is nearing completion. Spot tests for the lighting of the celebrated walkway have been conducted. The project will complete on May 15 as scheduled under the terms of the contract. Space of public beaches has been expanded, whereas some 120 pine trees and palm trees have been planted. Brand new underground infrastructure has been built from scratch,” Mayor of Saranda Adrian Gurma and the project implementation engineer said.

Businesses operating along the newly-expanded walkway have also benefited from the project as value of their properties has been increased significantly.
