The COVID-19 mass inoculation drive continues apace countrywide with the vaccine eligibility expanded to people age 60 and older and patients with chronic disease, while more vaccine shipments are set to arrive in the next few days. Prime Minister Edi Rama today toured the vaccination site in Kamze municipality to closely monitor the ongoing inoculation process.

“The total number of vaccinated people will increase to over 300,000 today. More than 200,000 older adults have received the first doses of the shot,” the Minister of Health and Social Protection said, providing updated information on the vaccination campaign.

Another batch of 90 800 AstraZeneca vaccine doses are scheduled to arrive this weekend, while the inoculation process continues at mass vaccination sites and health care centres all over the country.
