Progress of work on the urban requalification projects are at different stages in the museum city of Berat. One of the projects is the Berat bypass or ring road that would provide for the heavy vehicles bypass the city and will open a new space of integrated urban and rural development.

The city’s new ring road project is expected to have a positive impact on the tourist profile of Berat. Given that the road mainly stretches along the Osum River bank, an embankment will be built along the river in the residential area. The 4.1 km long road will also feature a dedicated bicycle lane, also serving as a city promenade.
