A newly-rebuilt museum facility in the town of Përmet is the latest investment funded by the southern municipality. The new museum has already become a valuable treasure of the town of Permet.

During his tour to Përmet, Prime Minister Edi Rama also visited the totally transformed museum building.

“This used to be an old storage house and the municipality has transformed it into a local museum,” the Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro said.

The museum has been already turned into an important attraction, as well as a centre of knowledge for the youth in Përmet town, highlighting the dignity of a community of educated and highly cultivated people.

“The personnel here have done a very good job. I would like to point out this fact and commend them. The municipality has strictly followed the procedures and rules so that the facility can now be considered a museum and fantastic job has been done also through the EU’s IPA funding,” Culture Minister Elva Margariti said.

Local government authorities have also cooperated with the State Archives Directorate in building this museum, where important documents dating back to the National Renaissance Movement in early 20th century have been showcased in the local museum.
