Albanian Government Council of Ministers

During his visit to China, Prime Minister Edi Rama was received in a bilateral meeting by Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang.

Prime Minister Rama thanked Chinese Prime Minister for the support his country has given for several important projects related mainly to infrastructure development and cooperation in the field of trade and economy.

Prime Minister Rama noted that relations between the two countries are very friendly and he committed to intensify them further in the future.

Albanian Prime Minister focused on the latest developments in the Balkans, a region that in 100 years since WWI started is experiencing peace and regional cooperation. In this regard, Mr. Rama stressed that the projects discussed during the meeting in Bucharest, regional projects that develop infrastructure and economy, remain a priority for the Balkan countries and represent an excellent opportunity to benefit Chinese concrete support.

Prime Minister Li Keqiang said he was pleased that, after the meeting held last year in November in Bucharest, he had the opportunity to receive the Prime Minister of Albania in Tianjin, a city which this year welcomes the Summer Davos Forum.

Besides congratulating the Albanian government for receiving the status of candidate country to the European Union, Chinese Prime Minister stressed that his government remains committed to supporting Albania and the region in the field of energy development, infrastructure, education and economy.

Prime Minister Li Keqiang was pleased to learn that many of the projects discussed at the previous meeting are moving in the right direction and underlined the importance of Albanian and Chinese entrepreneurs to intensify cooperation and mutual visits, given the special relationship between our two countries.

Prime Minister Rama was accompanied at this meeting by Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship Arben Ahmetaj, Minister of Energy and Industry Damian Gjiknuri, as well as by Minister of Education and Sports Lindita Nikolla. While the Chinese delegation was attended by Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng, Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo and Secretary General of the State Council Yang Jin.
