Albanian Government Council of Ministers

TODAY, PRIME MINISTER EDI RAMA ATTENDED THE INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF “TIRANA EXPO CENTRE”, A MULTIFUNCTIONAL SPACE DEDICATED TO PROMOTING BUSINESSES, FAIRS, SPORTING EVENTS, CONFERENCES ETC.

The Prime Minister said that the center is a promotion space that has been missing for a long time in Albania, and expressed his belief that very soon it will become a reference point for businesses and social activities.

“This space was really needed, and I am convinced that it will promote many things and give more visibility to many people who invest in this country, make sacrifices and try hard to build wealth, create jobs and develop prosperity for themselves and for the others.”

“Tirana Expo Centre” hosted the “Automotive Show”, the first automotive trade fair organized in Albania. After visiting the fair, the Prime Minister took advantage to address unfair competition, an issue raised long ago by operators in this area.

“The fair coincides with an important moment of our communication with car dealership industry, in terms of a joint effort to improve legislation and working conditions of all those carrying such an activity that is both useful to development and difficult given our conditions, because there is a lot of unfair competition due to stolen cars or cars traded in a totally illegal way.”

Prime Minister’s attention was caught by the exhibit of old automobiles belonging to different periods. The Prime Minister was very interested in learning about Albanian collections of old cars which, he said, are still an unknown part of our heritage. “I was given the opportunity to see collections of old cars, an unknown part of our heritage, and learn from their collectors that there should definitely be a law provision, because these cars must be treated not like old cars for everyday use that pollute the environment but, according to what I learned, as precious values of a precious heritage.”

In the end, Prime Minister Rama greeted Elahida Dani, winner of the “Voice of Italy”, and addressed reporters with a mot.

“I’m leaving with just one regret and I’d like to share it with you. Since I arrived a few minutes before the activity started, I was proposed to have a tour. As I was touring, Elahida Dani began singing and all cameras came after me, instead of staying there for her. This is my regret. I had my share of the blame, but I believe that the media are to blame as well. Bur probably not that much, since who knows, maybe they came after me to catch a moment of drugs exchange.”
