An investment agreement was signed today in the United Arab Emirates for the subsea interconnection of the energy distribution network between Albania and Italy in the Adriatic Sea, as well as for investments aimed at increasing renewable energy production in Albania. The agreement was signed by the Governments of the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Italy, and the United Arab Emirates.
On behalf of Albania, the agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku. This agreement brings the three countries together in a strategic alliance for renewable energy.
Earlier, during his speech at the Summit, the Prime Minister emphasized that the agreement would help boost Albania’s role as a key player in the region, supported by its 100% renewable energy production.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, as well as government representatives from the respective countries.
