Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Work on the Ksamil bypass construction site continues at a fast pace, an infrastructural project that will ease movement during the peak of the tourist season for both residents and the numerous foreign and local visitors.

Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by Saranda’s Mayor Oltion Çaçi and the Director of the Albanian Development Fund, Dritan Agolli, visited the site to closely inspect the progress of the works.

“In fact, it’s the entire road from the entrance to the exit of Ksamil, which is the main 2.2 km road. With the construction of the bypass, it will take on an entirely different character—completely urban and tourist-friendly. The road, sidewalks with tiles, lighting, and the green spaces have all been improved. This is part of a series of interventions in Ksamil, some of which are nearing completion, such as this one, or are in the final stages,” explained Dritan Agolli, Director of the Albanian Development Fund.

Such investments, in addition to easing traffic, will also add significant value to properties and businesses in the area.                                                                                                                                 “Anyone who comes to Ksamil this season will notice significant changes. An entirely reconstructed road. Meanwhile, we are starting work on the promenade and a much more structured system for the beaches, with numerous internal interventions already completed. Although we’re not at the end yet, we are in the process, and Ksamil 2030 will be a Mediterranean model in every aspect,” Prime Minister Rama stated.

In addition to the road, work is also underway in Ksamil to build public parking spaces, which will address the issue of parking during the peak of the tourist season.
