Remarks of the Prime Minister Edi Rama at the launch of Skanderbeg grave Memorial complete rehabilitation Project in the ruins of Shën Koll (Saint Nicholas) Church in Lezha:

 

Good evening to all!

In the frame of Skanderbeg Year and following this opening of the two-day government meeting in Lezha County, it is decided an utter restoration programme of our National Hero Memorial, which is far from being in optimum conditions.  We have done as much as possible and today’s condition of the Memorial leaves much to be desired in relation to what should indeed be. However, the entire area is absolutely improved compared to some years before when the Memorial needed the intervention we are about to perform both in the inside and around it, which state was scandalous.

I am confident that under this project we will be endowed of a referral point to not only respect history but also towards environment quality it will provide, which will bolster curiosity as well as the presence of visitors in the Memorial.

We are determined and willing to support this Region and the large Municipality of Lezha in a number of projects as the focal point, so to say, without causing jealousy either in Mirdita or Kurbin, as the center of gravity of the Region, projects in infrastructure, rural development projects, where Lezha has some very inspiring examples of agri-tourism development, it has a tremendous potential for tourism development, and of course, both in terms of the service-related part, in education and in health, as well as administration services in general.

The mayor, whom I thank for his presence, has naturally all the right to be always dissatisfied, it is even his work to be dissatisfied as any mayor, since the plethora of problems and difficulties on the municipal list is always greater than the opportunities to cope with by financing solutions to the whole problems. Nonetheless, I would like to assure the Mayor and to assure them all that we will undoubtedly be near Lezha, we will be very attentive to all needs and requirements and we will do our utmost to do to Lezha everything good possible to be done during the time span of this mandate.

As a city endorsed with the right to demand an important part in everything we will undertake during Skanderbeg Year, Lezha as well, will be one of or referral points, both through the Memorial project to start implementation soon and also through other projects as well.
