Reconstruction of the educational facilities and transforming them into a cradle of knowledge and education through theory and practice simultaneously is under in Lushnje too.
Four new schools designed to deliver on high infrastructure standards and provide optimal education conditions for students and teachers were visited by the Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by the Minister of Education Evis Kushi, and the Deputy Prime Minister Erion Braçe, also lawmaker representing the region of Lusnje.
The radical transformation of the reborn school building in Kolonje, Lushnje, speaks for itself. The school building underwent a full reconstruction process, while the school gym is completely a new one, Deputy PM Erion Braçe said. But what makes this school special is schoolyard, which is transformed into a recreational centre for the citizens, children and the elderly after the school hours.
A total of 304 students, many of them from the adjacent villages, and 27 teachers attend this school, which also houses a kindergarten.
The high school in Fier Shegan is another reborn educational facility in the area, an Albanian government-funded investment, not only for students, but also for the community. The new school will welcome 300 students in optimal conditions and it will serve as a community centre for around 5600 local residents after the school hours.
The green spaces are what strike you most as soon as you enter the schoolyard. These spaces offer not only a relaxing panorama, but they can also be exploited by students for the practice courses, a suggestion forwarded by the Prime Minister during a conversation with teachers. “I would like to suggest you that one of these lawn plots be cultivated to grow various agricultural products,” the Premier said.
The new school also offers a sports complex for the local community.
The newly-built school in the village of Kryekuq in Divjaka was the next stopover for the government head, who was welcomed by oldest teacher in this school, who affirmed this is the most important transformation the school has undergone during his 45 years of work experience.
During his visit to this school, the Premier suggested that each school develops its own micro-farm for locally-grown produce so that students can learn and be educated with a culture of work through practice courses.
One educational facility in the area has yet to undergo a complete reconstruction project in order to meet best European standards.
The nine-year school in Shënepremte is another educational facility in Divjake, which has been rebuilt to be more resilient, safer, bigger and more beautiful after the damages it sustained due to the devastating earthquake last November. As part of his tour to Divjake area, the Premier also visited the new premises of this school, which is completely different from the previous building that was located there until few months ago. Sports grounds, labs and a library have been added to the new school in Shenepremte, providing optimal education conditions after long decades of neglect and degradation. “A part of the building was built from scratch. The conditions in the old school were miserable, while the new building delivers whole new standards,” Kavaja Mayor Fredi Kokoneshi said.

The centre of the town of Divjake will soon take a completely new look. Prime Minister Rama hailed the impressive transformation that is gradually providing a new look to the centre of the town, where work is currently underway to build an underground parking lot and the road to the town’s centre, which are being constructed from scratch, together with the wastewater and sewerage system. All local and central services will be integrated in a 550-square meter area. In the meantime, work is underway to construct the new road linking the town of Divjake with Upper Çerme.
“We will now work to unify the garden spaces. This is a characteristic neighbourhood and we are seeking to turn it into a tourist attraction,” Mayor Fredi Kokoneshi said during PM Rama’s visit to Divjake.
PM Rama also visited the area of Çermë Sektor, where a new kindergarten will open doors to children from the area soon. The new kindergarten, which the Premier considers as one of the most special ones in the country, will welcome more than 200 kids, but its capacity is set to increase to meet the area’s needs.
“Every space is lighted, with large spaces, central heating and auxiliary facilities,” Deputy Prime Minister Braçe said.
