“Automotive Fair Albania”, the first edition of a long -awaited auto show of regional proportions in Albania, opened today as a regional display of the most innovative enterprises operating in the Albanian-speaking territories.

The fair, a showcase of the latest technology models of various vehicle brands as well as vintage cars, takes place for the very first time in Albania and is hosted by the Ministry of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the General Directorate of Road Transport Services and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.

Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the auto show and in his opening remarks in said:

I would like to primarily thank Edona, our State Minister for the Protection of Entrepreneurship, who took over this initiative together with Blendi Gonxhe, the Head of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, and in the meantime I would also like to wholeheartedly and cordially thank all the attending friends from North Macedonia, Kosovo, Preshevo Valley and other countries for their precious contribution.

It is a very special fair, the first of its kind in our country, with many interesting and attractive cars and vehicles put on display, but also offering space to a still-nascent industry that is steadily growing and to which we rely and are seeking to push further in a near future so that we can create more spaces and more quality jobs.

In the meantime, we are steadily and persistently working on building the largest auto-park facility in Elbasan, in a much larger area than the one we are hosting this car show and where we hope that our dream to watch and attend a Formula 1 race, of course not in a near future, but within a foreseeable future, inspires and makes us confident to press ahead with it. Nobody could have imagined even in the wildest dreams that we would host a European football final in Tirana and we actually hosted it. I also believe that there is no reason for us to be afraid of dreaming big again about bringing and hosting a car racing in Albania, and, why not, a Formula 1 race, on a track which is designed to meet all the parameters, because it is a project made in close collaboration with the FIA, the federation which also hosts Formula 1.
