The building foundations have been already laid and the work to construct the underground infrastructure is nearing its completion. It is about the newly-launched construction site in the village of Bubq, Kruja Municipality, where implementation of the modern project to build 75 single-family homes and seven four-storey residential buildings kicked off today.

“It is a whole complex of buildings. Work has progressed and the underground infrastructure is almost complete, whereas work is slated to build the aboveground infrastructure. As you see, work is underway to construct the residential buildings on the left side. Seven apartment buildings will be constructed to house 45 quake-affected families,” the Minister for Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj said while accompanying the Prime Minister Edi Rama, who inspected the ongoing works at the site today afternoon.

“This site will be one of the best examples of the reconstruction program as it is designed to host a new residential complex, combining apartment buildings, single-family homes, a new school and the administrative unit building, which will deliver services through the Municipality of Kruja,” Minister Ahmetaj said, adding that the location of the 75 new houses has been marked on the ground.

The transforming project includes not only housing units, but also educational facilities. Work to lay the foundations of the new school “Selman Daci” has just completed and the first floor concrete slab is being built. “The new high school building will house 12 classrooms, two kindergarten classes, and five labs. The new educational facility will welcome 300 students,” the Mayor of Kruja Artur Bushi said.

On his part, Reconstruction Minister Ahmetaj informed that construction of the first educational facility funded by donors completed today.

PM Rama inspected the whole site picked to host the reconstruction project, where construction of the single-family homes is set to complete in next six months.
