Albanian Government Council of Ministers

A block of the residential flats being rehabilitated along the Drini River bank was the next stop as part of the Prime Minister Edi Rama’s visit to the north-western city of Lezha, where he saw first-hand not only the ongoing reconstruction projects, but also visited a number of successful enterprises operating in the area.

This residential block includes nine apartment buildings constructed before the’90s with the exterior of their facades damaged and in a poor state of repair.

Prime Minister Rama, accompanied by Lezhe Mayor Pjerin Ndreu, inspected the ongoing rehabilitation work that is heading towards completion.

“The exterior of the buildings’ facades had degraded. The old apartment buildings have now been repaired as new roofs have been installed and brand new façades were also built. With the last building being reconstructed, this whole area will take its final shape with a fresh look,” Lezhe Mayor said.

The rehabilitation project has given these buildings and the city’s entrance a whole new look. The inner space of the residential block has been redesigned to include a park, green spaces and playgrounds for kids.
