With the mass vaccination campaign underway for several days now, in addition to the family doctors, the e-Albania government portal has been also made available to ensure registration and smooth vaccination of the citizens. In her remarks as she accompanied the Prime Minister Edi Rama during a visit to Rrogozhine, the Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu said that more than 15,000 applications for vaccination have been registered via the web-based e-Albania platform.

“Family doctors are doing a laudable job. But the e-Albania platform has been made available to all of those who have yet to be notified and as many as 15,000 requests for vaccination have been recorded so far and the applicants are being provided replies regarding the process,” Health Minister said.

The vaccine rollout for the elderly has started in Rrogozhine for several days now. With the vaccination of the medical personnel, teachers and the education staff complete, the process is now on the go for the older adults over 70. More than 200 old people will receive the vaccine today.

Health Minister Manastirliu underlined that “the inoculation drive is now at its height and it won’t stop..”

More than 150,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered since the start of the mass immunisation campaign last weekend, Health Minister said during a visit by PM Rama to the healthcare centre in the town of Kavaje, where the mass vaccination for the seniors over 70 is well underway.

“The total number of the administered vaccine doses will jump to over 150,000 today, or 50% of the doses we have received so far and the intense process will go on so that we can vaccinate as many older adults as possible and expand COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to include younger people,” Manastirliu said.
