Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Press Statement of Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Arben Ahmetaj, following the meeting of the Council of Ministers:

Hello!

Here is another good news for the Albanian entrepreneurship.

Today, the Council of Ministers approved the draft law “On the remission of penalties for unpaid compulsory contributions of social and health insurances by legal and physical entities.”

The law in question remits 80% of penalties generated as a result of not declaring within the terms the tax liability of contribution, whether for health or social insurance.

I take this opportunity to inform subjects that benefit from this relief, – which means by removing 80% of the penalties – that this relief is valid if obligations are paid by 30 April 2015.

So 80% of penalties will be remitted only if other contributions are paid by 30 April 2015.

59,411 subjects benefit from this direct relief.

I want to remind you that we have remitted electoral penalties; we have removed arrears for energy for citizens and now we are remitting a significant portion of penalties on contributions for social and health insurances. This relief is also a direct signal for the obligation and the necessity of formalizing the economy in the country.

I take this opportunity to solicit entrepreneurship to formalize all employees in all sectors of the economy.

Thank you!
