Today, the Prime Minister visited Fushë Kruja dhe Kruja in the wake of inspection of works that have begun to revitalize urban centers.
The Prime Minister started inspecting from Fusha Kruja, where works are being carried out intensively to reconstruct the access road to the city. Due to its location at the crossroads of the highway Tirana-Shkodra with the highway Vorë-Fushë Krujë, this road segment is very important not only because it gives Fushë-Kruja a modern urban gateway up to the city center, but also because it is an important road segment of the national road network. The road has been designed according to parameters of modern infrastructure; it is wide 13 meters and has traffic islands and sidewalks on both sides, which will facilitate circulation of vehicles. In the project is included also the planting of decorative trees on both sides of the road.
Mayor Gjon Bardhi said that this project will have a great impact not only on the development of Fushë Kruja, but also on tourism growth in Kruja.
“At this pace, I believe works will finish by next spring and the road will display a new image of Fushë Kruja,” – Bardhi said. In addition, he asked the government to support also other projects of the Municipality in order to revive the city.
Besides assuring that the local power has found in the Government an ally for the transformation and development of cities, Prime Minister Rama stressed the importance of implementing the projects that have been started according to standards.
“Let’s complete this project with the ultimate standards. Let’s build with the ultimate standards the new school, let’s bring an urban greenery worthy of a city, let’s regenerate the texture of the buildings, so that apartments ‘value will increase, shops’ value will increase, economy will grow. Especially because of the small business, self-employment might find here more room. We only have to create the road of hope and positive energy so that things will move one year after another, much faster. This is important” – the Prime Minister said.
Works have begun in Fushë-Kruja also for the construction of the high school which, according to the Mayor, will have contemporary standards and even a gymnasium that has been missing to young people.
In a meeting with citizens of Fushë Krujëa, the Prime Minister took the occasion to stress once again the importance of paying electric power.
In the city of Kruja works have begun for the reconstruction of the road that connects the city center with 3 old neighborhoods towards the Fortresses. The road will serve also to connect 2 villages nearby Kruja. In the project is included also the widening of the road which will be completed with system lighting throughout its length up to the Castle. This will highly facilitate circulation also for tourist buses.
Prime Minister Rama inspected also works for the revitalization of the old bazaar of Kruja. This project is being carried out with the Albanian-American Fund for Development.
Deputy Mayor of Kruja informed the Prime Minister that the bazaar will be completely reconstructed, starting from the roofs and facades. In addition, a firefighter system will be build because, as he said, the bazaar has been burned down twice in the past. An internet system will be available for businesses and visitors. “This has been a very successful year. We have had 45 thousand visitors in 3 months.” – Deputy Mayor said.
Prime Minister Rama noted that, due to what Kruja represents for history but also for tourism, a long-term development program is needed.
Besides assuring further support, the Prime Minister told to Deputy Mayor: “We will continue here with a chain of projects. Of course, this will depend a lot on you, because it is up to you to propose. But now that we took Kruja under protection, we want to really give it a special status, not with words, but a special status by paying attention to its needs, because this city is one of the most damaged and it needs a lot of care. And since it brings a lot of income, unemployment should not exist in this city. As a norm, we should build a several-year project, a several-year development project and you should provide us the main orientations, so that we can continue then doing our part. But we assure you on our absolute support, since Kruja is our priority. It is very important to us.”
