Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Today, on teachers’ day, Prime Minister Edi Rama chose the high school “28 Nentori” in Shkodra to convey his wishes to all Albanian teachers working in the educational institutions of the country, but also to all those teachers who have successfully fulfilled their noble mission over the years.

Known as a model institution for the transmission of knowledge to younger generations, the high school “28 Nentori” with its 750 students and a staff of 43 teachers has been assessed by the Ministry of Education as the number one school with the highest scores across the country for the academic year 2014-2015. The students of this school have won many national Olympiads and have been distinguished by their in-depth knowledge in different subjects. Many well-known personalities from the political and academic life of the country are former students of this school.

Prime Minister Rama donated flowers to teachers and talked with them about the progress of various projects that the school has taken recently.

The Minister of Education Lindita Nikolla, who was accompanying the Prime Minister on this visit, praised the ongoing work done by the teaching staff, and gave them the good news that they have been ranked first by the level of knowledge and performance of teachers. “The team of the school has been ranked first for the level of knowledge and performance of teachers. Apparently things are connected to each other, because the graduates from this school of this year have been ranked first.”

Minister Nikolla promised that due to the high results achieved, the school will benefit from various projects of the government. “The school is part of the project with IADSA, to begin with 50 thousand Euros allocated for the library, sports facilities and digitization. Due to your results, aid through projects will be even greater.”

The school principal thanked on behalf of the staff for the assessment that the government has made for their committed work, and for the encouragement given to excellent students of this school. “I thank you on behalf of the staff for choosing the high school “28 Nentori” on the 7th March celebration. I won’t speak about the results today, because you’ve already become part of our results. I thank you on behalf of staff for the rewards given to this school for two consecutive years, and also for the scholarship granted to Ida Gjergji, a student of ours who graduated last year and who will continue her studies in Turkey. A hard-working students who has fully deserved the excellent results she achieved in the final exams”- the principal said.

In addition to pledging support for every excellent student, Prime Minister Edi Rama wished them further success in their work. “Besides the student who went to Turkey, another three students have achieved excellent results there. When we were in Turkey, we met with the rector and professors who asked for more brilliant students from Albania. So this year, we will surely find the opportunity to award a scholarship to other students. I thank you once again. We are close to the school for everything, and it is my personal honour to support you with whatever is possible. Projects are out of discussion, but we are at your disposal for anything else. Thanks so much for what you do. I wish you all the best for the conclusion of this year. Your students are very lucky to have you.”
