A project on urban requalification of a residential complex and the access roads in central area of the town of Kamze has completed. Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by Kamze Mayor and Director-General of the Albanian Development Fund Dritan Agolli, visited Kamze to see first-hand completion of the rehabilitation works.
The whole area has been revitalized under the project developing whole urban infrastructure, including pavement of neighborhood streets, construction of new spaces, sidewalks and rehabilitation of the underground infrastructure.
“Whole area and a total of 25 residential buildings have been rehabilitated. The old residential buildings have taken a new look under the post-earthquake reconstruction programme. The old buildings were covered with thermal insulation panels, energy efficiency system, and public spaces for the community and the new modern fruit and vegetables market. Construction of 2.6 km long roads and infrastructure, playgrounds has also completed,” Kamze Mayor Suli.
A new fruit and vegetable market is another important investment in the area. “Kamza will now have its market and procedures are underway for the market to be handed over to the Municipality. Construction work has completed and work to make the market operational,” Kamze Mayor said.
PM Rama closely saw first-hand the area’s urban transformation, where investments have been made in the underground network but also in road infrastructure.
Commenting on the investments in construction of educational facilities, PM Rama noted that a total of 29 new schools and kindergartens have been constructed in Kamze municipality only.
Kamze Mayor Rakip Suli said that work on construction of five more schools has yet to complete.
