Today, Prime Minister Rama paid a visit to Brussels, where he met with senior officials of the European Union.

The prime minister had a very encouraging meeting with European Commission President, Jean Claude Juncker. President Juncker expressed his deep concern for the damage caused by floods in the south of the country and offered the support of the Commission, which is mobilizing emergency aid via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The meeting focused on Albania’s EU integration perspective and on developments in the region. Prime Minister Rama presented the integration and state-building reforms, which were praised and supported by the EC President.

President Juncker reaffirmed the commitment of the Commission to Albania’s integration process and assured that the EC will continue to provide support and assistance in further steps towards full integration into the EU. President Juncker praised Albania’s constructive role in the region.
