Prime Minister Edi Rama received the visiting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Karen Donfried on Friday.

The meeting focused on progress of reforms, strengthening the rule of law, strategic investment projects on energy sector, the Bulgarian veto against North Macedonia and the situation in the region.

One of the topics of their discussion was the United States full support for the Open Balkans initiative.

In her remarks, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State also praised Albania’s role in the Security Council, as well as in the region.
