Prime Minister Edi Rama received today in a joint meeting the Interior Minister of France, Bernard Cazeneuve and the Interior Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Thomas de Mazière. The meeting focused on the importance of strengthening partnership between our countries in the fight against organized crime, illegal trafficking and corruption, as phenomena that go beyond the dimensions of a single country. The Prime Minister informed the ministers on the project for reforming law enforcement units and strengthening the investigation procedure through the establishment of the National Bureau of Investigation, a project valued by both ministers.
Ministers Cazeneuve and de Maizière, recognizing Albania’s efforts in the fight against corruption and organized crime, said that cooperation and a stronger communication between countries is important to the success of this fight. They ensured support from their countries in facing these challenges that require joint efforts, expertise and opportunities.
The successful action of the State Police in Lazarat was also valued during the meeting as evidence of the government’s strong will to fight against the cultivation and trafficking of narcotics.
