This neighborhood, which has seen the relocation of 428 families into newly constructed apartments following the earthquake, is now advancing into the third phase of its redevelopment. This phase includes expanding the main roads, constructing sidewalks, and installing essential infrastructure such as electrical and sewer systems for both stormwater and wastewater. Additionally, traffic signs, street lighting, and other improvements are being implemented.

A new hub of Tirana is taking shape, with fully developed infrastructure, comprehensive services, and attractive public spaces designed to enhance the community’s quality of life.

Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Anuela Ristani, visited the area today to review the ongoing work in administrative units 4 and 8 of the neighborhood.

“We are now in the next phase of developing the supporting infrastructure, as the buildings are already completed. The good news is that all residents displaced by the earthquake have been successfully relocated. A total of 428 apartments have been provided, ensuring that every family has been housed. About 40% of these residents will receive compensation, which has allowed us to free up land for further infrastructure work. The road we’re working on will stretch all the way to the New Boulevard, not only connecting the neighborhood but also serving as an auxiliary route for traffic coming from the Ring Road. This major 20-meter wide road will include not only lanes for cars but also sidewalks and bike lanes, creating a more pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly environment.

In this area, we’ve also addressed compensation for businesses, providing specific service units to help them continue operations in the same spaces. This project is benefiting both residents and businesses, improving the neighborhood’s overall functionality and livability,” explained Deputy Mayor Ristani.

During the meeting with residents, the Prime Minister highlighted how the area’s development will soon turn it into a vibrant new center of Tirana, benefiting both the local community and the city as a whole.
