Albanian Government Council of Ministers

The Tale area in Lezhë has long been a selected tourist destination, attracting an increasing number of visitors year after year. To complete the infrastructure that facilitates access to the area and to give a new impulse to tourism development, the government has supported the municipality’s project for the construction of a new road connecting the village of Rrilë and the Tale Hydrovore with the Lezhë–Tiranë highway. This is a 6.3 km investment, built to modern standards, featuring bicycle lanes, sidewalks on both sides, and decorative elements.

To inspect the new road, Prime Minister Edi Rama was today in Lezhë, accompanied by the Mayor of Lezhë, Pjerin Ndreu, together with residents, who have welcomed this investment.

Mayor Ndreu described the new infrastructure as one of the most important projects for tourism development in the area, stressing that this road not only significantly improves access to Tale and the Hidrovore, but has also increased surrounding property values and created a new reality for the local community.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rama suggested further improvement of the road’s aesthetic elements, underlining the need to add more greenery along it as a necessary component to turn this axis into a fully-fledged tourist road.

Alongside investments in road infrastructure, the implementation of an important project in the water supply and sewerage sector is also ongoing. This project includes the construction of a new water supply system in Kodër-Marlekaj, which will serve around 5,000 residents, as well as the rehabilitation of stormwater and wastewater networks, aiming at a definitive solution to flooding issues in the area.

These major investments aim not only to improve infrastructure and quality of life for citizens, but also to sustainably increase the tourism and economic potential of the entire Lezhë area.
