The southern coastal city of Vlora, a popular tourist destination in Albania, is enriching its coastal and tourism resources thanks to a series of investment designed to transform the natural sea beach into a first-class urban beach for the local residents and visitors.
Prime Minister Edi Rama today inspected the ongoing work as part of the second phase of Lungomare Vlora Waterfront project, which in addition to the seafront promenade’s rehabilitation will also create a new natural beach, which will include one Olympic-size swimming pool and a smaller swimming pool for children, parking area, as well as other public services to attract as many visitors as possible.
“The new beach will be the most beautiful one in Vlora. The new beach will be similar to that of Jala, a five-star beach,” PM Edi Rama said.
Around 630 meters of coastline will add to the entire stretch of the current beach that can be massively frequented by holidaymakers starting next summer season.
“The whole area will feature underground tunnels for holidaymakers,” Mayor of Vlora Dritan Leli said.
A retaining wall will be built along entire stretch of the new waterfront promenade, as well as steps to provide easier access to the beach.
