Urban renewal has not stopped for a single moment over these years, and although the transformations in the cities are impressive, rehabilitation interventions continue through new projects, not only on roads but also in museums and cultural monument buildings.

One such project is the revitalization of the “Vaçe Zela” Art Center in the municipality of Lushnje, located in the “Kongresi i Lushnjes” neighborhood, in the city center.
The center, with complex functions such as a theater, cinema, cultural and social activities, etc., is a building constructed in 1974. The new project, thanks to a modern concept for a multifunctional art center, includes the construction of a modern theater hall, cinema, a rotating stage, puppet theater, exhibition space, and art courses for young people. It will be an ideal space for various theater, music, and artistic performances.

Prime Minister Rama continued his visit to Lushnje at this center, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku, who informed that several inspections have been carried out to monitor the progress of the work.

“The work is progressing very well at the ‘Vaçe Zela’ theater with all the reconstruction being done by the Albanian Development Fund. We have also reached an agreement to turn this part here into a museum, as we have identified many old items inside the theater, such as pianos or costumes, which were part of the costume design to be used. We also have a rotating stage, the second one in Albania after the one at the National Theatre and Opera, and the puppet theater.” – explained Deputy Prime Minister Balluku, who emphasized that every space will be utilized to create new areas for learning and entertainment.

Prime Minister Rama praised the work done on the project and provided advice regarding additional artistic elements.

Currently, all infrastructure work, systems, networks, and water supply-sewerage are nearing completion.
