Press statement by Prime Minister Edi Rama and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at meeting in Munich, Germany:
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: It’s a real pleasure to sit once again with my friend Edi Rama of Albania. It’s an opportunity to first of all again express my condolences over the terrible earthquake we talked about when we saw each other in NATO. Canada is committed to also take part in the Reconstruction Conference in February. We work together extremely well in the NATO-led missions. Albanians are serving along with Canada in Latvia in the “Enhanced Forward Presence” group from NATO and it is a pleasure to continue to exchange and have such good cooperation with you as you move forwards.
Prime Minister Edi Rama: I am very thankful and I really appreciate meeting you in any occasion. You know you have a significant influence on many people doing same job. And at the same time, you know you are the Prime Minister of many Albanians who live in Canada and work hard and give a contribution to your country, but also gain from your country a lot of knowledge and a lot of good things for their own families. Last I would like to say that I am very grateful that you have been very much caring about what happened recently. I am also thankful that you will be attending the Conference. We certainly want to strengthen our ties. I know we are far way, but in a way we feel very close with your country and all of you. Thank you for the time you took from your agenda and thank you for sitting on the side of the Albanian flag.
