Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected several urban renaissance projects in Ballsh, Mallakaster,  starting with the water supply system project designed to ensure 24-hour potable water supply to local residents. The old and totally degraded water supply network built in 1976 is now being replaced by a brand new network under a state budget-funded project worth 5.2 billion lek. The new water supply system will provide 24-hour water to residents in the town and the surrounding areas. In the meantime, another project will kick off soon to construct a water supply system for the Mallakaster region, Mallakaster Mayor Qerim Ismailaj confirmed.

“A new state budget fund worth 5.18 billion lek is being procured and it will support construction of a new water supply line for the areas of Poçem and Qafë e Kashit. The new system is designed to ensure 24-hour water supply to around 80% of the population in Mallakaster,” Mayor Ismailaj said.

Other public work projects in Mallakaster include the centre’s urban requalification and the surrounding space, construction of the pedestrian area and the main road with bike lanes, the underground network of telephone and internet, eliminating any overhead line and the lighting system, as well as the façade revitalization project.
