Albanian Government Council of Ministers

The work at the construction site of the regional hospital in the southern region of Fier is in full swing 24 hours a day, seven days a week simultaneously in several sectors of the project. Prime Minister inspected the construction work tonight on the 24th day since the launch of the Fier hospital project. Earthquake-resistant structures are being used for construction of the hospital building.

“Excavation and the site preparation work have already completed, with around 30.000 cubic meters of soil and dirt materials already being removed and several processes of construction work are also underway. Laying of the iron frame is currently underway at the D section of the construction site, whereas levelling work continues in the sections A and F, where the emergency department and the patients’ rooms on the left side of the building will be situated,” the project’s supervisor said as he briefly explained the project.

Around 300 workers are currently working in the construction site, whereas 200 more workers are expected to be hired for other construction processes in the coming days.

Each hospital’s section will be connected with each other through a connecting corridors system. “The corridors will be connected through a connecting system, while we continue concreting the foundations of the main section, which will host a two-storey building,” the project’s supervisor said.

The works is also underway on laying the power line and the sewerage and wastewater network. Teams are also working to build the new road to the hospital, which is expected to complete at the same time.
