Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Prime Minister Edi Rama today toured a Food, Agriculture and Livestock Fair launched at Tirana’s Mother Teresa Square, an event that has brought together farmers and food producers, as well as representatives of leading Albanian companies that have already gained access to major international markets.

Accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, the government head saw up close the variety of quality products and locally grown produce showcased by farmers from all over the country, beneficiaries under the national support schemes for agriculture, thanks to which they have significantly increased production and exports.

The Premier tasted some of the typical and traditional products and urged farmers to better promote their products and activity. “We will create a product catalogue that will include details and features of all Albanian exports and in the meantime we will prepare an ambitious plan to further expand to very important markets where we have yet to gain access to. We will deliver on this plan very soon. We will soon launch a promoting tour and this has been already solved at the high level of politics, and all it remains is to introduce it to a technical level too. The point is that Albanian agriculture is now producing a lot, but many people have no idea and have yet to learn about it,” the Premier stated, assuring farmers that support for the country’s agriculture is the government’s top priority.
