The Albanian government continues to encourage and assist farmers through its agricultural development policies and rural development program designed to lay the foundations for a modern and competitive agricultural sector that would not only meet the country’s growing demands for quality and safe products that meet the European standards, but also contribute to the country’s exports growth to regional and European markets. One of the businesses benefiting under the government’s Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development Programme is Arna shpk, a household farm in the poultry farming and production sector launched some 20 years ago today that has come to grow its production capacity in 30-40 thousand chickens through qualitative investments and technology modernization, which has influenced the standardization of automated process processes, as well as high production quality.
Prime Minister Rama visited the poultry farm in the village of Boboshtica, south-eastern region of Korça, that with the two new poultry incubators through a funding provided by the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (ARDA) is expected to double number of permanent and seasonal workers.
“This poultry farm, though somehow modest, is one of the best ones in the region. From the ventilation controlled system, food delivery to the incubation warming rooms, this is the only regiment with zero carbon dioxide emissions, something that the EU might ask for after 10 years,” the investor said, appreciating the government and ARDA in particular for supporting his investment plans.
“This kind of investment is to make sure that Albanian consumers are offered chicken meat that meets European standards,” ARDA Director Frida Krifca said.
“Around 90 percent of the company’s production is destined for the domestic market. The company carries the distribution process by itself, ensuring product’s safety and hygiene up to the highest standards,” she added.
