Albanian Government Council of Ministers

The Regional Centre for Innovation and Technology, part of the World Economic Forum’s Centres Network will be headquartered in Tirana. The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who attended “the Strategic Dialogue on the Western Balkans” Leaders Meeting” of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland.

“The Strategic Dialogue on the Western Balkans was organized by the World Economic Forum and is part of the dialogue process launched 2018 Annual Meeting in Davos and together we agreed to move forward. Actually, today we had a very fruitful meeting, not because this is commonly said, but because a number of concrete decisions have been made. Among them, I am pleased to inform that it has been agreed that the affiliate centre of the so-called the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be headquartered in Tirana. The Tirana-based regional centre will serve as a reference point for the innovation, technology research and it will be part of the affiliate centres network supported by the World Economic Forum Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in San Francisco and other countries, and its opening I believe will bring an added value to the ongoing digitization and innovation process where Albania and the region have entered in,” PM Rama said.

“The Strategic Dialogue on the Western Balkans” focused on ways to re-energize efforts and strengthen the spirit of cooperation between the six Western Balkan countries.
