Approximately 21.000 check-ups have been performed in the 17 installed cabinets in one year, since this service is being provided for free in the region of Lushnje (Municipalities of Lushnje and Divjake). A number of citizens are waiting to have a free check-up in one of the cabinets in the city of Lushnje. They believe in the importance of this control, and this is why some of them have returned to do it for the second year in a row. Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the cabinet and was informed by the doctors and citizens about the performance of check-up. According to health specialists, the overall number of controls shows a great interest of citizens to carry out basic medical control. In many cases, one of the doctors said, thanks to the basic control citizens have been able to detect in time the most serious health problems and receive further treatment by a specialist. The doctor explained that the check-up has had a very good performance is the second year, and is continuing at the same pace. “The demand is growing. Citizens are informed by the family doctor, talk to each other, and ask the family doctor specifically for this, and schedule a meeting before having the check-up”, – the doctor explained. Pranvera Bazaj, 54, is one of the citizens who responded to the call of the family doctor to perform the check-up. 56-year old Idris Cela says that the check-up is a great opportunity to have regular checks.

European standards that will improve the service quality, and also the working conditions for the medical staff, the Prime Minister said while referring to the new premises. The reform of the health system reform, he noted, is the most difficult site of reforms, but the steps taken are crucial to modernize the system.
“This is probably the hardest part in the site of the reforms and change: the health system. But I believe that some important foundations are being laid, starting from the normalization of the price of medicines for people, thanks to which 70 million dollars have been saved in the pockets of families each year; the free visit at the family doctor has eased a lot the process of interaction with hospitals; the drastic reduction of tariffs in hospitals and more investments in infrastructure, like this investment here, which is an investment of European standards, a very impressive one, that will deliver a totally different service throughout the territory. In addition, it creates much better conditions for the medical staff”- the Prime Minister said.
