More than 50.000 students and schoolchildren will soon move into the new school facilities already rebuilt under the post-earthquake reconstruction programme across the country. The Minister of State for Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj said while accompanying PM Rama during a visit to the newly-reborn nine-year school and kindergarten in the village of Derven, Kruja municipality that a total of 160 educational facilities are built or being built in the quake-hit areas.
“Kastrioti” school and the adjacent kindergarten have 15 classrooms, laboratories and indoor and outdoor sports grounds. Construction of this school –according to the head of the Albanian Development Fund Dritan Agolli- though posing a challenge in terms of its location’s geology delivers highest habitability and education standards.
“Hajdar Hoxha” school and kindergarten in the village of Larushk, Kruje, is another reborn educational facility thanks to the Reconstruction Programme. Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by Reconstruction Minister Arben Ahmetaj, and Kruja Mayor Artur Bushi, visited the newly-built educational facility.
The new school, which houses also the kindergarten, has 320 pupils, 19 classrooms and best-equipped laboratories with didactic tools and everything required to meet contemporary education standards.
The Minister of State for Reconstruction Ahmetaj noted that the area is slated to benefit under the EU-funded programme on construction of educational facilities.
“Many schools out of 160 educational facilities have been already handed over and construction of many others is underway. Construction of all schools funded by donors is scheduled to complete by February 2022. This municipality is selected to benefit under the EU-funded programme on construction of educational facilities,” Ahmetaj said.
