A series of investments have been expanded to include the university campus in the city of Vlora, which is undergoing complete transformation project that will give a whole new look to the premises frequented by students and make the campus buildings an integral part of the city. Reconstruction of the university campus continues with the public space and the sports grounds, as well as the rehabilitation of the urban infrastructure of the adjacent residential neighbourhood to integrate the campus with the Ismail Qemali Boulevard.
“We are nearing completion of a very important project that includes an area of six hectares. The project includes 6500 square meters of asphalted streets, 3500 square meters of tile-paved sidewalks. The project envisages a stone flooring option for the remaining area close to the boulevard and Petro Marko theatre, just like it is the case with the Ismail Qemali Boulevard. This is also a response to all the claims by those who pretend that we are focusing on the main roads, the boulevard and the Waterfront Promenade only. This is an example proving that we are focusing on every public space and it is an investment right at the heart of the city, exactly where the theatre building is located,” Vlora Mayor said, while accompanying Prime Minister to inspect the new infrastructure serving both students and Vlora community.
The rehabilitation project also includes the neighbourhood close to Ismail Qemali University building that has been completed with new streets, sidewalks, lighting system, parking places, and green spaces.
“The goal was to provide direct access from the boulevard to the student center so that the university camp becomes an integral part of the city. In the meantime, construction of this long-awaited road has completed. The sidewalks have been paved, at the same time the spaces with parking lots dedicated to the residents have been also constructed,” Vlora Mayor said.
