Vora is the latest quake-hit municipality where implementation of rebuilding projects is underway as part of the post-earthquake recovery and reconstruction programme, with work first focusing on reconstruction of the new underground and road infrastructure that will precede the construction of the individual and collective apartment buildings for the affected families in the area.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by the Minister of State for Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj, continue inspecting rebuilding works in every reconstruction sites, including Vora Municipality, where work has entered an advanced stage and work to break the ground and lay foundations of the first individual homes and apartment buildings is expected to start in October. “A total of 404 apartment houses will be built here and work to construct them is set to begin in the first ten days of October, whereas a large number of individual homes will be built in the other part of the municipality,” Reconstruction Minister Ahmetaj said.
Vora Municipality is one of the hardest-hit areas by the devastating earthquake and work is heading towards completion to clean the territory and make way to a 10-ha site that will host the reconstruction projects there. The investment will provide direct help to a total of 404 families that will be housed in brand new homes designed to meet best EU standards in terms of safety, quality and living spaces.
The project includes construction of the road infrastructure in and around the new residential neighbourhood, the water supply network, sewerage and wastewater system, as well as the power supply system and telecommunication.
