Deputy Prime Minister, Ms Ledina Mandija had today a meeting with the Attorney General, Mr Adriatik Llalla.
At this meeting, Ms Mandija talked with the Attorney General about the maximum cooperation required to follow up with priority and investigate the abusive cases that undermine the process of free and fair elections, and asked him that this be formalized through a cross-institutional cooperation agreement between the Council of Ministers, the Attorney’s Office, the Central Election Commission and the Commissioner for the Oversight of the Civil Service.
Deputy Prime Minister underlined the importance of the Attorney’s Office role in investigating the cases of use of state administration human, financial and logistical resources during the 2017 election process. Ms Mandija requested the Prosecutor General to specifically investigate cases of use of resources provided by means of illegal activities.
The Attorney General expressed his will and commitment, as well as agreed to formalize a cross-institutional cooperation agreement.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister held meetings with the CEC Chairman and the Commissioner for the Oversight of the Civil Service with whom an agreement on a cross-institutional cooperation has been concurred, and which is expected to be signed soon.
