The newly-built road linking the town of Maliq and Libonik, from a bumpy road full of potholes that had become a nightmare and daunting experience for the drivers, now meets optimal road infrastructure standards , featuring also a protected bike lane, sidewalks, green spaces and led roadway lighting. Work to construct the 2.3-km road is about to complete soon and it is expected to significantly ease traffic and provide farmers access to local markets in the south-eastern district of Korça.

Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by the Mayor of Maliq Gëzim Topçiu, inspected the site, where construction works are scheduled to complete in next few weeks.

“We have intervened to improve facades of many building in the town of Maliq and the village,” Mayor Topçiu said.

Likewise, the entire surrounding area will undergo a rehabilitation project that will see complete reconstruction of the underground engineering system, as well as the rehabilitation of the facades of some 13 buildings.
