Press statement by the Minister of Justice:

The online co-governance platform “the Albania We Want” and the Anti-Corruption Task Force on one hand, as well as an ever growing stronger cooperation between the Prosecution Office and the State Police on the other, we are increasingly enhancing the state’s hitting power and capabilities. I am here today to congratulate the cooperation among the Prosecution Office, the State Police and other law enforcement agencies that today finalized the arrest of the head of the Regional Immovable Property Registration Office in Shkodra and a specialist from this institution. But it is not only this case. A series of successfully finalized operations over the past few days are a result of cooperation between the anti-corruption structures, the State Police and the Prosecution Office. Suffice to mention the arrest on corruption charges of two Food Authority officials in Durres, another employee at the Regional Immovable Property Registration Office in Shkodra and two citizens on charges for exerting illegal influence in order to demonstrate the increasing effectiveness of the state’s anti-corruption hitting power. Same determination and cooperation should also be demonstrated in a number of other actions already underway. I want to assure all citizens that this joint institutional commitment will continue with concrete reactions as an indication of the state’s determination to strike with zero tolerance anyone who will commit corrupt acts or abuse of office. Likewise, to be transparent with the public, just like we have pledged to, tomorrow we will announce a weekly summary on the anti-corruption activity results.
