Belsh, the town near lake of the same name, is increasingly becoming one of the most sought after attraction for visitors from all over the country. Thanks to a recently completed modern infrastructure project, funded by the Albanian government, the town’s urban mosaic features now a new pedestrian road and the dedicated bike lane along the shore of the lake. The project also included the reconstruction of the town’s access road, along with construction of sidewalks, lighting, greening, rehabilitation of the rain waters and road signage.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, who inspected some of the investments in the area of Belsh today, noted the tangible impact of investments in urban infrastructure and agro-tourism in the Municipality of Belsh.
“This investment, among other things, has also attracted many Albanian migrants to return back home,” Mayor of Belsh Arif Tafani said. He also noted that “with the project’s first phase completion, as many as 28 new businesses, mainly bars and restaurants, have been opened.”
On his part, the government head put emphasis on the need to promote agro-tourism development in the area. According to him, investments are turning the area into an attractive destination for agriculture and agro-tourism projects.
