A newly-built plant for car battery raw material products manufacturing in Bradashesh, Elbasan, the latest investment worth over 20 million dollars in the central Albania region. Built on a barren and uncultivated land area, the plant is becoming the major source of employment for local residents.
The investment’s initial phase worth 4.7 million dollars has already completed. This phase includes construction of the zinc and nickel kiln, is completed, while the work under the projects second phase, with an estimated investment worth 17 million dollars for completion of the entire line production, is set to begin in a near future.
Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the new plant, which is expected to create more than 200 new jobs.
The entrepreneur is a local Elbasan resident who has been living and working in China for 14 years. “This is our investment, a zinc and nickel kiln. We have invested 4.7 million dollars in the investment’s initial phase, whereas an investment worth 17 million dollars is expected to be implemented during the second stage. The factory will manufacture car battery raw material products. The main plant operates in China, while we here produce zinc and nickel, which is the raw material for the car batteries,” he said.
The entrepreneur said he was confident the factory will become operational next month, whereas the investment’s second phase is projected to kick off in a very near future.
“The factory will finally become operational by May 15. The factory and its production line will expand on this uncultivated land,” he explained.
The factory’s construction respects every environmental standard. “It’s 100% environmentally friendly,” Socialist Party lawmaker Taulant Balla said.
